Last Friday during the 911 Patriot Day Ceremony, Senator Arthur Orr awarded the "Medal of Heroism" to Decatur JROTC Cadet Joshua Dean. The medal is the highest award that a ROTC cadet can receive . Joshua Dean sensed something was wrong and took decisive action to immediately call 911 to help save the life of his friend. His actions serve as an example for all cadets and students to follow.
