Hi, I’m Ben Karczewski, and this is my first year teaching high school Spanish. I grew up near
Joliet, Illinois and fell in love with the south after I started college at the University of Alabama in 2016. I earned my BA in Spanish and Philosophy in 2020 and my MA in Spanish Applied Linguistics in 2022, both from UA. I enjoy working out, playing catch with my dog, Dorie, and working on my truck. I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach at Decatur High School and look forward to bringing what I learned during my time as a student and graduate teaching assistant at UA to DHS.
